Category Manager

What will you help us with

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded Category Manager to join our Procurement & Category team. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective category strategies that drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to optimize the assortment, pricing, and promotional activities within assigned categories.


A selection of your daily activities 

  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business objectives. Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and risks.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Making sure we can get the best prices and terms for our products.

  • Assortment Planning: Manage the product assortment within assigned categories, ensuring a balanced and competitive selection. Collaborate with suppliers to optimize product offerings and drive innovation.

  • Supplier & Partner Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and brand partners. Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.

  • Pricing and Promotions: Implement effective pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market. Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute promotional activities that drive sales and customer engagement.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics and market research to make informed decisions. Generate regular reports on category performance, market trends, and key performance indicators. Use insights to drive continuous improvement.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for assigned categories, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve financial targets.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

  • Proven experience 3-5 years as a Category Manager or in a similar role.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes. (affinity with gaming is a plus)

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
