Frontend Developer

What we need your help with

We run a conversion driven B2C eCommerce platform that offers 250 products in 32 regions, 20 languages and a high-end user interface that is optimised for every device. For us, that is just the beginning. With your help, we can improve the performance, integrate new products, regions, languages and technologies, as well as optimise our customer journey and introduce new services. Innovation and a proactive approach to new technologies are essential to our progress.

A selection of your daily activities

• Work project based with other departments on new user-friendly interfaces.
• Translate the project specs into clean code.
• Develop high-quality software design and architecture.
• Document your code where the implementation does not speak for itself.
• Monitor & take action to improve page speed metrics (FCP, LCP, TBT, CLS, TTI).
• Identify and write test scripts, this concerns Unit tests, functional- as well as acceptance tests.
• Track website performance and perform the usual to be expected troubleshooting.
• Work closely with marketing, design and content colleagues in order to create an awesome user experience.
• Be a gatekeeper of clean and maintainable code and review code from others.
• Teach and mentor developers in the team.

What you bring to the table

• Proven experience in TypeScript, React.js, Next.js
• Familiar with static site generation (SSG) and server-side rendering (SSR)
• Experience with optimizing for client-side performance, SEO, and web vitals scores
• At least 5-6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in e-commerce
• Experience with Scrum and DevOps with continuous deployments
• Knowledgeable with respect to application management aspects like logging & monitoring
• Ability to help keep the team organized, on track, and focused on the sprint goals
• Quality-oriented mindset, critical regarding your own work, familiar with principles like SOLID, DRY, KISS, and Clean Code.
• Able to work effectively when handling business critical incidents.
• Bachelor or Master working & thinking level in Software Engineering.
• A solid knowledge of the English language (both written and spoken).
• Available for 32-40 hours to work in our office in Eindhoven.
